Florence by High Speed Train

The most beautiful Renaissance city in the world!

Enjoy the most beautiful Renaissance city in the world. Florence is the birthplace of the Italian language; it is also home to Michelangelo’s David and one of the most important Renaissance cathedrals in the world. After a high speed train ride through the Italian countryside, begin the visit in front of the grand Renaissance Church: Santa Maria del Fiore. With a professional local guide, explore the most important historical attractions in this incredible town. Admire Signoria Square and the magnificent Palazzo Vecchio that is still considered the political hub of the city.

Florence is the city where the Italian language was born and where Dante Allighieri invented it. See where this important writer lived and then visit the most popular bridge in the city:  Ponte Vecchio. Here vendors sell the most luxurious jewellery in the city. Nearby is one of the biggest leather markets of Florence and a place to find luck.  As tradition dictates, rub the nose of il Porcellino, a small pig bronze statue located in the middle of this lovely market, for good luck. The guided tour will end in Signoria Square where  Michelangelo’s David stands in all of his majesty. The local guide will explain the story of this famous sculpture and how Michelangelo transformed and manipulated  such a large piece of marble into his most famous masterpiece.

After a busy and enjoyable morning, enjoy a traditional lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon wander through the city and do some shopping during free time. Before traveling back to Rome, visit Michelangelo Square for a gorgeous view and say, “Arrivederci,” to this breath-taking town.

Optional upon request: Guided tour of the second most visited museum in Europe: Uffizi. The Botticelli masterpieces “Birth of Venus” and “La Primavera” are housed here, but these are only two of the many pieces in the Medici family collection.
